Its most main activities include wine drinking competitions and a so-called „Batalla de Vino“, or Battle of Wine in English, where contestants use buckets to pour wine all over each other. The celebrations begin at 7 in the morning when a procession starts made up of people in white shirts and red scarves laden with all kinds of containers such as jugs and bottles filled with red wine. The procession is led by the town mayor on horseback, and winds through the town of Haro to the Cliffs of Bilibio, where a mass is celebrated at the Hermitage of San Felices de Bilibio. After the mass a huge fight breaks out, with everyone throwing wine at each other until the white of everyone's shirts is soaked pink. At midday, all the revellers return to town to celebrate at the Plaza de la Paz, followed by bullfights in the town's bullring.
